Lauren Sacks
Physiotherapist

Lauren Sacks graduated with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2006 after completing a Specialized Honours degree in Kinesiology and Health Science at York University. She has also completed training in acupuncture and is a Certified Acupuncture Practitioner by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. Lauren has been a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and the Orthopaedic and Sports Divisions since 2006.

Lauren's physiotherapy practice utilizes manual therapy, exercise prescription to correct/resolve muscle imbalances that lead to musculoskeletal injury and impairment, as well as acupuncture and other modalities. Her goal with each patient is to educate them on their condition and causative factors in order to empower them to take an active role in their rehabilitation process. She is a firm believer that an active treatment plan is the key to a successful recovery. Furthermore, she is actively pursuing a wide range of post-graduate education courses to further her knowledge and clinical skills in manual therapy, exercise prescription, postural correction and re-alignment and the treatment of various musculoskeletal impairments. To keep active herself, Lauren currently participates in Muay Thai kickboxing, snowboarding and weight training.

Joanne Ukposidolo
Physiotherapist

Joanne Ukposidolo graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. Previous to this she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Biology-Psychology from McMaster University. Joanne has completed post-graduate training in soft tissue techniques. She is registered with the College of Physiotherapist of Ontario and is a member of the Orthopaedic and Sports physiotherapy divisions of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

As a therapist, Joanne believes in working collaboratively with patients in a holistic manner using manual therapy, soft tissue techniques and other modalities. She enjoys creating specifically tailored exercise programs that restore and maintain function. She is a firm believer in educating patients about their condition, providing postural correction and activity modification in order to treat and prevent re-injury.

To advance her clinical skills Joanne will be taking a wide variety of post-graduate courses including Manual Therapy, exercise prescription, Taping and Acupuncture.

To keep active Joanne regularly participates in rock climbing, kayaking, running in charity events and competing in dragon boat regattas.

Luis Silva
Chiropodist

Luis Silva B.Sc., D.Ch. is a chiropodist who graduated from the Michener Institute and has been providing footcare services for his patients for over 20 years. It is estimated that 80% of people in their lifetime will suffer from some form of foot ailment. Chiropody services include general nail care for fungal, ingrown psoriatic and thickened toenails. Treatment of calluses, corns and plantar warts are common in this practice. Luis also practices more advanced therapy for biomechanical issues (heel spurs, metatarsalgia, etc.) and sports injuries, which he typically addresses with orthotic and footwear therapy. Footcare education and preventative care are also an important part of his practice.
